Vapor Tech Kanthal A1 Ribbon Wire. The primary difference between flat and round wire is the amount of surface area for a given volume. Using flat ribbon Kanthal in your rebuildables means you will get more vapour from each draw. The flat shape of the wire makes it much easier to wrap around and cover the wick.

For an equivalent length of resistance wire at equivalent resistance values, Vapor Tech Kanthal A1 Ribbon Wire will have more surface area in contact with the wick when compared with the round wire. This means increased vapor production from your vaporiser.
Another benefit to using flat ribbon wire is a reduced occurrence of hot spots on your coils. The flatness and thickness of the wire makes it easier to evenly coil the wire, thus resulting in more even distribution of heat production across the coil.

NOTE: Because of its flat shape, creating sharp twists in Vapor Tech Kanthal A1 Ribbon Wire will cause tears, rips, warping, and other kinds of mechanical damage. Thus, if you have a rebuildable atomizer (RBA), avoid twisting your ribbon Kanthal wherever possible as you are winding your coils.

The only areas where twists are unavoidable are at positive and negative screw terminals. This is because you should have your ribbon wire flat (horizontal) against the screw head, as good electrical connections require good mechanical connections. However, this means you may have to twist the wire in order to wrap it around the wick.
